Welcome to the Wagga Wagga Fencing Club.
Wagga Wagga Fencing Club is focused on encouraging and developing the sport of fencing in Wagga Wagga and the Riverina.
Fencing has many descriptions but the one that seems to stick the best is “playing chess at 300kph”; in fact many American web sites refer to fencing as “physical chess”. Fencing is a sport requiring excellent , lightning reflexes and a sense of strategy. Fencing in all its forms can be considered as an Olympic sport, a recreation or an artistic performance.
The Club expects all to adhere to our three basic rules:
1. Good Manners; this really doesn't need explaining, especially as fencing is a sport that has manners incorporated in its rules and regulations.
2. Listen; if you listen you will know what to do
3. Think; everyone knows whats appropriate and what is not, so stop and think, then it becomes easy
Our close ties with the NSW Fencing Association and the ACT Fencing Association have given us the opportunity to grow into an active club. The Club attends as many Sydney and Canberra Competitions as we can as well as hosting the Riverina Championships in September. At the same time we enjoy the recreational side of the sport and keep the fun and fitness aspects of the sport at the club sessions.
The Club offers coaching for in all three Olympic weapons, Epee, Sabre and Foil. For more information please go to the training times page.
We hope you can find all the information you need.
